Hey, gang. 2012 MCS White Silver intro thread.
What's up, all?
I traded in my '02 Audi A4 (153k miles) for my '12 MCS in White Silver on Saturday the ninth, and left her in the driveway on the morning of the tenth to go to a week long conference across the country. When I got back, I gave her the customary wash & wax that I do with all my cars. Here are the results, just for you guys.
The car was used, with 6,000 miles on it, and I got a great deal from a friend at a local BMW dealership where it was traded on a 328i. I guess the original owner's wife didn't like the ride. Bummer for him.
It's pretty well equipped. Cold Weather, MINI Connect + Nav, Comfort Access, sunroof. Loving the ride.
My car history is long & varied. I learned to drive on a '99 Wrangler, got a 2001 IS300 while working in college. Woman pulled t-boned me and totaled it, so I bought a friend's '92 Prelude. Went back to the Jeep when I sold the Prelude to my cousin. Bought one of the first 2006 WRXs to come off the assembly line at the end of '05; got into Autocross and modded the car to SM, putting out about 300 whp and 295 ft/lbs of torque, with a nice stiff suspension. That car loved to get hit, though. After three years, it had been hit six times. I moved to the A4 and left it stock, just so I'd have something "fun enough". Three and a half years later, and I've had my fill of keeping the Audi running. Been looking at MINIs for a while, and planned on ordering one when this guy came along, and it was too good to pass up!
