New Mini in WI

I am the proud owner of a 2007 Mini Cooper S 6 speed! She had 3 previous owners, but only had 57,000 miles on it. So far, I love my car! She is silver, with black bonnet stripes. By far the funnest car I have ever driven!

I am concerned about WI winters though....any suggestions?

Assuming Upstate NY winters are relatively similar, the only modification I found necessary and that I'd suggest is a set of Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires. They made a world of difference for me.

Get a second set of rims and tires, like the previous post said - Bridgestone Blizzak work great.

I have done any Winter driving with my Mini, but have driven Tercels, Corollas,...other compact cars during Canadian Winters out east and in New England. A good set of Winter tires will do just fine. If you can swing it, an extra set of rims for your Winter tires is even better. I always drive with Winter tires (during Winter of course) even on my 4x4 pick-up. They always tend to pay for themselves sooner or later.

+1 on a set of "real" winter tires and rims. Indispensable, and easy to swap in your garage fall / spring.

I ran all last winter on my OEM Runflats on my new MINI. I am also from Wi, and yes winters can be crazy. Snow tires are nice indeed, but driving in snow isn't rocket science. The mini handles just like any other front wheel drive car, traction control is a nice feature on my car.
