Hi Rev, and welcome!
That will make you nuts!
It happened to me too.
Try this -
<<< Click on "User CP" on the left, under "Main Menu."
Under "Your Control Panel" on the left, but to the right of "Main Menu" click on "Edit Options."
Scroll to "Messaging & Notification" box.
In that box scroll down to "Default Thread Subscription Mode"
In the drop down menu choose "Do Not Subscribe"
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Save Changes" button
I hope this helps.
If this doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.
Good luck.
I look forward to seeing photos of your Roadster when it arrives!

LittleWing is spot on.
Also, on the user control panel, there's a block showing threads you've responded (and by default, subscribed) to. There's a link to "view all subscribed threads", and there, you could select certain ones and choose to get email notices about them, or not.
Just another option. There's a few that I keep being sent to me to stay tuned, so you do have that option also.

I didn't know that.
There are some threads that I want to follow and I subscribe to them when I post to the thread and choose how often I want to be notified of updates.

Another option is that most email clients, even web based, allow create filters to sort incoming emails into different folders. I am subscribed to about a dozen email lists. (3) MINI, (2) F150, (3) motorcycle, (2) RV groups etc etc. With filters I have the MINI emails redirected to folder MINI.... So none of the emails clutter up my main IN folder and I can go to the other folders at my leisure.

Thanks everybody. I am no longer receiving e-mail notifications for posts on threads. Honestly hit every possible option under Control Panel and nothing worked, so I signed out, signed back in and found the drop-down for e-mail notifications and unsubscribed.
I guess I'm not so high tech. That and I almost exclusively use my iPad which does make some sites act a bit wacky. Thanks again.
