New Cooper S owner from KS

Hello!

just recently bought my Cooper S last friday! it is a 2005 silver on black. absolutely love the car! having so much fun with the 6-speed manuel transmission.

im not new to cars by any means, but mini's yes. i currently have a BMW 328i, 08 yamaha R6, and a 74 Porsche 914. but the porsche is my track car (scca) i have been hunting down a mini for the last 4 years or so and finally bit the bullet.

here is the MINI! (dont worry, i did not pay 12,5 for the car lol)

here is the Beemer!

the R6

and some random pics of vehicles

So you're from Wichita and stationed elsewhere now? Where?

I liked Wichita. Maybe because it was my first duty assignment and those were some fun years... age 18-23.

Welcome to the addiction. I thought I recognize the BMW dealership in that mini picture. I traded my mini in 2 years ago across the street at the ford dealership. Mine was also silver but a 07 and not an s. I am currently awaiting my next mini. I will be going to OKC to pick it up when it is in. Which is where I bought the first mini while we were stationed there. My husband did 15 years Navy, 5 Air Force. he is retired and we currently live about smack dab in the middle of the triangle of OKC, KC, and Denver dealerships. I chose OKC just because I know the city better. I always took a road trip for service since I was under the impression that the Wichita BMW didn't service MINI's. Did they give you any info on that when you bought yours?

Yes the air force is part of the story, my husband now is working with natural gas storage. We ae currently talking about a move back to the pacific NW. This summer has been a hot one. All our family and our children are there. With one child married we want to be close when grand babies come along.

However, right now the only baby I am worried about is my MINI. Almost 4 weeks in and still no movement out of on order. The ASKMINI personnel said that they thought it should change soon and go quickly from there. Hopefully it will be one of the first built when the plant finally strts up again.

Congratulations on your 05 MCS--they're great fun. Wichita has a local group of about 90 Miniacs called WAMO(Wichita Area Mini Owners) that meets monthly. Their email is WAMO_KS@yahoogroups.com and they are on Facebook. If you are looking for a local independent shop in Wichita, BavarianAuto is the best. I have used them exclusively since our warranty expired. Welcome to NAM and ICT.

Cool mini. I like that color but couldn't find it. Miss my sport bike but not enough to ever get another. I was a moron with that thing.

Vdub I agree Wichita is a great city, I don't get there offen since I live 2 hours away. But it is the closest big city. With the military I have lived all over but the nw is home. We will just have to wait and see what the future holds. Enjoy your MCS
