New guy here with a Chili Red R53

I just wanted to say hello. My name is Steve.

I have been lurking for a while and recently registered. I picked up a 03 Cooper S last night as my new daily driver. It is stock except brakes and Alta intake. It is a fun car and I am looking forward to doing some wrenching under the hood. I’ll be in the Eastern Caribbean for the next week so the car will be sitting…I’m looking forward to coming back to get some seat time with the new arrival. After that I’ll be ordering some goodies from Way and checking the supercharger. I am looking forward to some wrenching on the MINI.

My last car...recently sold so that come spring I can upgrade.....not really sure what I want though. My S4 was one of my favorite cars. Obviously the mini has a bit less power

Welcome Steve! I just picked up a chili red as well. Congrats on the purchase, you are going to really enjoy the Mini. Any immediate mods planned?

Congrats to you as well. It was not my fist color choice but overall it was a clean looking car.

I just changed out the oil and fixed the BPV last night by modifying the spring. I had no power below 3k RPM. Now she is very zippy and boosting properly compared to before. Today I noticed that after idle only my high speed fan works (was getting hot until it kicked in) so I will be fixing the low speed portion of that circuit tonight. (turns out loose connection)

As far as mods it already has an Alta CAI but I ordered some stuff from Way yesterday.

-17% pulley w/puller tool (Ill rent it out in the future for others who need one to use I suppose)

- Shorter Supercharger belt

- Filter service kit

- Way Motor Works ignition package (wires, plugs, coil)

Thanks, I thought the same but I’m thinking of having the top/mirrors wrapped in gloss black vinyl next spring. I like the red/black theme…but no black wheels. This car is supposed to be my daily but with how affordable parts can be I foresee many mods to come.

+1 on the white wheels. Blacking the roof and mirror caps would be sharp too though...

I have an Alta intake already and ATE PremiumOne Rotors. BTW...if anyone knows how to adjust the left bumper I need to make a minor adjustment so that it aligns with the hood better.

I just detailed the car today with the nice Chicago weather we have.

Hot MINIthe way it is but Chili Red with the white roof just screams for white stripes. And agree on the white wheels too. If you can tolerate the frequent cleaning, of course.
