Another MINI fan

Hello all, finally had the time to join N.A.M. and hope to have time to read and post here.

Our 2009 MINI R55 Clubman is a blast to drive, and I can't wait to get a few upgrades done. Sparkle has 75k miles, and has been all kinds of fun so far.

I'm dealing with a few new issues recently, all at once, and don't have a dealer within 4 hours (one way) of us here in Missouri (!!!) apparently it's St. Louis or KC - and we're neither. So I'll be getting to know our MINI a WHOLE lot better soon, and I'll be glad to share my experience and maybe help a few people along the way.

Have fun and be safe!

Welcome, these are fun cars...most issues have been covered here, somewhere.

In Missouri, and 4 hours away from either KC or STL? Now that's remote for sure! I was having trouble picturing where that might be...then thought of West Plains, for example. That would do it!

Way out here at Lake of the Ozarks, and we love it here. I'll have to search the local area and other MINI owners (the few) to see where they get work done. I don't mind doing most myself, but I just moved from Georgia - so I'm a little lost back out here again. And my garage is still buried!

I'm not sure if you make it to Columbia, MO but there is a good independent import shop up there. We make it about 20 mins from the lake at least once a month to visit family. If you decide to have a get together let me know and we would be glad to come.

Two MINI family in Springfield, Mo. We use Baron in KC. Great sales and service. Ask for Isaac in the service dept. if you go there. Good luck and welcome!

Thanks friends!

I've actually spoken with Isaac at Baron, and emailed the basics to him about the car - small world! I need to try scanning my car with my Matco MD9000, and let him know on that, and I'll be ordering an OEM gas cap from them after the holiday (hoping it's a leaky cap). He completely understood that an 8 hour round trip is crazy without some basic troubleshooting, and told me over the phone that he'd be happy to help. :-D

And I would be very interested in a referral to an import shop in Columbia - we have a mix of vehicles and a few different imports.

The shop in Columbia is Walt's Service, they specialize in VW and Porsche, but work on all European makes.
