2010 MCS vs 2011+ MCS

Hello all --

i have found 3 Mini Next certified MCS that I am interested in getting --
two are 2010's and one is 2009.

I would love one of the 2010's but was told by a guy i work with who drives a mini non-s that I should only look at 2011 and higher for a S.

I know they changed the engine so it gets more HP and they did some other visual stuff like changed the ***** from silver to black....but are they really different?

I could totall afford the 2010's now....if i "should" get an 11 or newer, then I will have to wait...again....

thoughts please?

Below are the engines and model years.

2007-2010 R56 and R57 Cooper = N12 (N12B16) Non Turbo
2007-2010 R56S and R57S Cooper S = N14 (N14B16) Turbo
2008-2010 R55 Clubman = N12 (N12B16) Non Turbo
2008-2010 R55S Clubman S = N14 (N14B16) Turbo

Engine change for 2011.

2011 + R56 and R57 Cooper = N16 (N16B16) Non Turbo
2011 + R56S and R57S Cooper S = N18 (N18B16) Turbo
2011 + R55 Clubman = N16 (N16B16) Non Turbo
2011 + R55S Clubman S = N18 (N18B16) Turbo
2011 + R60 Countryman = N16 (N16B16) Non Turbo
2011 + R60S Countryman S = N18 (N18B16) Turbo
2011 + R60S Countryman S ALL4 = N18 (N18B16) Turbo

Buy what you can afford or wait that is your decision. Either way get the lowest mileage MINI you can find and make sure you get the extended warranty. It will pay for itself over time.
