Another new MINI owner
Hello,
I've been lurking around for a few days getting a feel for the site and
finally joined today. I became a first time MINI owner on Valentine's Day
when I took delivery of my 2013 Cooper S Bayswater Edition. I've owned a
lot of cars over the years: Triumphs, Jaguars, Corvette, but I never
owned a car that makes you smile when you drive it until now. The family
literally stood in line for turns to drive it on a circuit of the country roads
here. One of my sons is pricing out his own MINI now. I love this little car,
I'm looking forward to many happy years with it. Glad to be a part of the
forum.
Regards,
Judy

Welcome Judy!
Congrats on your new Mini. I know what you mean about smiling when you drive it! Me too! I'm waiting for my new Mini to arrive after totaling my '07 about 6 weeks ago. This is a great forum for serious questions along with a lot of good laughs. Also, be sure to check out www.outmotoring.com for some great Mini stuff, it's run by some really nice folks and their selection is the best.
Please post some pics of your new baby when you have a chance. Motor on!
Cheers, LG

Welcome aboard to the miles of smiles car club
My wife came from the opposite end of the spectrum...cars were just functional until that first day when she drove her new MINI home. Almost 10 yrs later and she is still smiling about her purchase. It was her car that convinced me to buy my first MINI after owning the likes of a MGA, BMW 2002 and a Fiat 124 spyder. MINIs have a "bad" habit of making your face ache whenever you drive it.
And, yes, you are obligated to post pictures when you announce the arrival of your new car.

Thank you very much for the kind welcome! I've just introduced myself on the "Official Bayswater" thread and am looking forward to exploring the site in detail. My other favorite past time is photography, so yes, I'll be posting photos. The weather is horrible here right now, so all I have is a crummy cell phone photo of my baby at the dealer:

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome and information. I've already located two clubs nearby and will join one of them. My husband and I are hoping to participate in the Guinness Book of World Records attempt in October (any excuse to go to the beach!). It will be fun to meet other Mini owners.
