Top 5 things to get/prep before your mini arrives?

Hi all - 4 more weeks until I get my first Mini! I was just wondering what everyone has prepped or is planning on buying before their Mini arrives? I'm thinking weather tech floor liners, iPhone cables, basic cleaning tools...any other ideas?

First thing I would get if I was getting a NEW MINI is http://www.invisiblemask.com/site.html This will save the paint on the front. 2. Cleaners and waxes. 3. weather tech matts especially if you live where it snows. these would be my top 3

I had already purchased and had them waiting for Molly when she got home, WeatherTech Floor Mats, Boot Liner and Boot Liner Extension.
Not knowing where to obtain your ultimate "You-ification" for your MINI is your biggest hurdle...take a look at www.outmotoring.com for more ideas.

Good Luck...every MINI just wants to be taken care of and LOVED!!

i got the JCW Strut bar ordered, seatbelt extender/holders for the headrests (heard complaints about these), got the official bmw/mini Y cable incase i don't get one w/mine (got tech package and nav) and looking at either the all weather boot liner and all weather floormats

was thinking of getting just the side panels from the aero package but want to save for the JCW tuning kit instead

IMHO - Following a full set of rubber mats for front/back/boot:
1. CG Lock
2. Clear bra
3. Cleaners, wax, mitt, 2 buckets, set of microfiber towels
4. Something to hold your phone/Nav if you use them while driving
5. Glove box organizer

The microfiber these guys are talking about is not that cheap junk you get at auto parts and dime stores. Get them from either 'Show Car Detailing' (Octaneguy) or Griot's Garage. Also, you will want a 'Light In Sight' prism so you can see the overhead control lights without having to lean over and look like a dork.

bleurainsan - What year / model did you get ?

jimmyselix - 2013 Cooper S Coupe , get the floor mats and the trunk liner, they are nice and save the carpets.

Here are the one for the Cooper S.

Front All weather Cooper S Rubber Mats.

&

Boot liner "Cooper S" version

The JCW front mats look great and they are like the all weathers except for the small carpet section. They are easy to clean and have a semi rubberized texture.

John Cooper Works front checkered floor mats.

Thanks and I hope that helps.

Have you used this? Did you install yourself or have it done?
Looks like a reasonable alternate to the $700 I was quoted for a clear bra.

Go visit the new vendor that just introduced himself on a new post. His website is https://www.autoality.com/store/pc/home.asp
I just took a look at his microfiber and it really looks good and generously priced.

Great,

There is the rear mat the has the MINI "wings" logo also.

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/51470415024/ES120741/

So that's another option.

Everyone seems to like the JCW strut tower brace.

Dont forget the locking nuts x 6

Thanks and I am glad I could help. Enjoy your new MINI. I really like the new JCW Coupe especially with factory Recaros.

Am I the only one who chuckled at the irony?

For me the list included
  • Clear bra appointment. Decide what you want covered. I included the whole front end and headlights.
  • Tint appointment. What film and how dark do you want it?
  • Select floor mats. I hate OEM carpet mats during the winter.

Check this site out. They've worked great for me in the past, and I've ordered them for my new MINI as well.

yea, i was foolish and didn't get sports suspension when i ordered/built it and in turn upgrading it after the built is about $3700; so i figured the strut tower was a much cheaper alternative (not the same impact but helps from what i hear).

already put my order in the boot mat and the rubber front mats now, to stubby antenna or not; the next question.

Does ECSTuning have the JCW side skirts ONLY for the 2013 coupe? i'm thinking of adding those only or perhaps color matching all of the black pieces on the coupe w/my lightning blue paint.. now which is cheaper..
