New to me 04 Mini
Hey All,
Last week I picked up my first Mini! A red / white top 04 with 85,000 miles on it! I have wanted this car since before I could drive, and my 04 accord was in need of a new transmission, I think, so I thought it would be a good time to switch.
It's a manual, which I had never driven before, but in the week since I've had it, I've had to make a long drive twice daily, and I believe I have the hang of it. I did not take it for a used car check when I got it, which is stupid I know, but my friend set me up with his BMW mechanic, and after $550 for an oil change/plugs/wires and a leaky gasket, he told me I got so lucky with this car that I need to hit the nearest 7-11 and buy two lottery tickets asap.
That said, I couldn't be happier myself, it's the best car I've owned, and the second best I've driven (my friends 02 X5 4.6i tops it, but not by much)
I'm glad to be in the club and look forward to the help and knowledge I'll receive here!
Also, if you were behind a red mini with a sign that said "Learning stick shift, SORRY" in the D.C. Nova area last week, that was me... sorry!
Joe
