Hello From Central Texas!

Hi! I'm Earnest and I'm a retired Army warrant officer. After riding in a Mini in 1974 (in Germany), I was hooked. So when the MINI was introduced in the US, I couldn't wait to get one. My 1st MINI was a Liquid Yellow 2002 Cooper S. Since we didn't have MINI dealers (at the time) in Texas, I bought my 'Killer Bee' from Flow MINI in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It was quite a thrill owning one of the first MINIs to arrive in the US and an even greater thrill driving this fantastic motorcar from North Carolina to Texas.
In 2004, I purchased a new BMW M3 and (sadly) said good-byeto my Killer Bee. After about 2 weeks, I really missed my Killer Bee.
In 2006, I purchased my 2nd MINI (JCW GP 1952); the last of the supercharged MINIs. In 2011, I became the proud owner of my 3rd MINI (Countryman S); this year (2013), I acquired my 4th MINI (JCW GP 0320).
These are great cars and absolute fun to drive. Although I experienced (in my opinion) a major problem with my Killer Bee (intermittent power steering failures), I've yet to experience any problems with my current MINIs. I'm looking forward to breaking in my 2013 JCW GP and seriously thinking of modifying my 2006 JCW GP (just some mild mods; nothing too radical). I look forward to exchanging ideas with all of you.

MOTOR ON!!

Earnest

Welcome! The GP is a sharp looking car. I'm retired Army also. Will be picking up my first MINI shortly, a JCW! I'll be down your way in early June for the 1st Cavalry Division Reunion. First Team! Take care.

Nice MINI and great story. I hope you remember to wave.
In 2006, I purchased my 2nd MINI (JCW GP 1952); the last of the supercharged MINIs.
Just a FYI. The supercharged MINI continued thru 2008 in the convertibles.

PMSummer, no, it's not mine. I've been out of the country; hope to get both GPs (2006 & 2013) out this weekend.
