Countryman JCW - no exhaust pop...

So, my Countryman JCW came home last week. It's awesome.

When I test drove one back in March the exhaust didn't pop or crackle, even with the sport button switched on. I didn't think anything of it. The car had about 20 miles on it at the time...

Fast forward two months now with my custom built car, and it also doesn't pop or crackle, even in sport mode. I've only done 60 miles so far and haven't really pushed it, but figured the exhaust would be bit more fun.

Is this something that develops over time? Or am I just doing something wrong? Or worse, have they engineered it out again?

I'm hoping it will be something that develops over time as things get settled...

My understanding from reading a previous JCW CM thread is that the JCW version doesn't have the exhaust pop and burble from the factory. Hard to believe, actually, but owners confirmed it.

The discussion starts near the bottom of page 6 in this thread.

Hope it's something they can eventually offer a fix for. Sounds great in my '13 R56 S.
