New South Texas r53 owner
Hello all, I recently bought a 2005 r53. I live in Brownsville TX and enjoy spotting Mini's everywhere I go. I saw one at Wal-mart yesterday and gave him my OEM antennae b/c his was missing!!
I just posted in the drivetrain section regarding shops in the RGV or other recommended shops in TX. Any input is appreciated.

Never got around to washing her, but here are some pics.... What you can't see in them is the transmission fluid on the floor of the garage....oh, the joys of European car ownership 
The only thing I've done is change the tires to Continental DSW 205/50/r17 and the stubby antenna (as mentioned before). I really like these tires. I abhor the roof rack and am looking forward to deleting it....after fixing the transmission leak of course.
Random acts of kindness are fun. Helping other people feels great! (Until you get taken advantage of, then it sucks.)
