First Mini

Hi
Just purchased my first Mini, a 2009 Convertible with 3700 miles. Lots of fun, but confusing as he** to set the locks and adjust the dash lights. I'm sure there's a "cheat sheet" somewhere on this forum.

Happy Motoring

Yeah, Germans design interior controls quite a bit differently than they do in American or Japanese cars. It takes some getting used to for sure. What I can say, is that once I started to realized the "logic" behind their design, I appreciated it more. For example, the reason that BMW/Mini uses central locking (single door lock button on the dash) is to reduce the possibility of someone accidentally hitting the door lock when existing the vehicle and locking themselves out. When you start seeing the logic in how they do things, it makes the other setups seem a little backwards. I was fortunate that my wife started driving an X3 6 months before I bought my mini and I got used to the controls.

Congrats and welcome to the family!
