New guy from NC
Hey, how's it going everyone?
I thought I'd introduce myself here since I just registered. I actually don't have a MINI yet, but I'm looking for one. I figured this would give me a head start to learn more about the car, and what to expect in buying one soon.
I'm currently deployed and in Afghanistan right now, but when I come back, I plan to (hope to) find myself a 2011-2012 JCW Clubman. I love the Clubman's style and slightly better functionality seeing as how I have a son, but with the upgrades it will still be a fun car for myself. From what I've come to read, the 2011+ are the "better" ones to get for the N18 motor for not having the timing chain issues of the N14. Any other buying tips, or what to get/not get would be greatly appreciated.
I come from a long history (10 years) of being a Honda person. I've built them, modified them, and used them for track purposes and daily commuting. I love them still, but I feel as since I'm creeping up to almost being 30, and having a son, a newer more practical car is a better choice. I just hope the JCW will still give me the excitement and fun I'm used to when it's just me in the car.
Take care everyone!
