Service Engine Soon P0236 Knock Sensor

Service Engine Soon P0236 Knock Sensor
Recently I bought a 2006 MC and the Service Engine Soon light came on. I took it to AutoZone to check and the code came up as P0236, Knock Sensor. From reading some of the other posts, this appears sort of common.
AZ can order the part for $30.
My question is this: Is the Knock Sensor easy to replace? Any advice or instruction on how to replace it?
Also, will the SES light go out automatically once the Knock Sensor is replaced?
Lots of questions I know, but I am a new MC driver.
Thanks

No it's not easy to replace. Here's the service report from the same problem I had back in the spring of '11.
"Remove front bumper, remove intake manifold, remove alternator and supercharger. Remove and replace knock sensor clear faults and reassemble. Five hours labor. This was done at a top level independent BMW/MINI shop. He charged $26.00 for the part at that time so your AZ price isn't out of line.
He also gave me a printout from this website:

Don't try to save a few pennies by buying cheaper gas like some have tried here. It's called 'penny wise and pound foolish'. My mistake was buying fuel at a supermarket station even though it was 91 octane. I took his advice and haven't missed a beat since. Good luck.
