New member from the UK
Hi All, I'm Platty (Mark) from the UK.
I've got a 2008 build MINI Cooper S that's had one or two things done to it.
Been trying to upload an introduction, but have been getting an error message: Post rejected because of a score of: 290.5 Rejection set to: 30
If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, enlighten me and I'll post up a 'proper' introduction.

I've owned my November 2008 built MCS since February 2013.
Here's the journey so far....
I'd had the car for approximately 3 weeks at this point. Desperate to take a baseline picture, I finally had a weekend where I wasn't working, and the sun was out.
Things moved relatively slowly at first.
I ordered some 3M Di-noc vinyl to cover various trim parts.
I also ordered a stumpy aerial and rear wiper delete kit.
My favourite wheels of all time are BBS LM's. However owning a genuine set was a pipe dream on my budget. Instead I ordered a set of replicas.
Now, my original budget was relatively small. A change in circumstances at work took place, and an abundance of extra work shifts at a higher rate was/still is available to me.
I started putting money aside, and the project took a new direction.
First off, a set of JCW Brakes
Then I started my battle with Chrome!
I joey'd the headlights too at this point.
I also purchased a set of AST Sportline Coilovers 2nd hand from a forum member. Manufactured for the R53, I was pleasantly surprised when they literally bolted straight up to the R56 without the need for machined washers or topmounts.
I later purchased a pair of AST Topmounts to add camber to the front.
She was too low in that last picture, so I raised her a little. The ride was MUCH better with the coilovers over the stock suspension. So much smoother, yet firm when pushing in a corner.
Around this point overtime started going completely crazy. I was able to order a JCW Aerokit, GP rear diffuser, and G wing from Orrange.
Trying to decide what direction to take next, it was pointed out to me I washeading towards copying a European R56 that had been built a few years before.
Rubbish night’s sleep followed where I mulled over the project.
I'd sold the replica BBS LM's and started pursuing a genuine set. At this point a forum member offered me his set of WORK VS-XX alloys. I was now caught between a rock and a hard place.
I chose the VS-XX's and an epic road trip to Holland ensued in a tiny VW Polo 1.416v 6N2. But before this I had to queue up and get an emergency passport issued as mine had run out!
So, around 600miles and 20hrs later I had these in my garage.
Front: 18x8.5 - et31 - 2" lip
Rear: 18x8.5 - et29 - 3" lip
Falken 452's - 215/35/18 front and rear.
A week previous to this I'd stripped the R56 down and set her off to paint.
Saturday morning
Sunday morning
The guys wasted no time
2 weeks in the paint shop and I had her back
A couple of days spent fitting her up
I started skinning the rear wing in Carbon.
But sadly ran out of time before a show I was building the car for. I had the wing painted to match the roof.
The exterior is now pretty much finished.
I’m not entirely happy with the height of the car, but cannot realistically go lower and still be able to drive on our terrible roads. Air ride is now at the planning stage.
The next part of the puzzle is under way with the interior retrim.
Lots more leather in Black/White contrast, JCW seats, rear seats deleted, and a fair amount of Carbon Fibre are planned for the interior.
I’ve also started picking up engine components to assist with the power upgrade planned. So far an AEM Intake, Wagner FMIC and Akrapovic Exhaust have been bought. I’ll be looking for a set of plasma coils and Akrapovic sports cat before I take the car in for a remap.

Evolve are based about 100 miles from me here in the UK. I may go to them for a remap next year, however it's undecided at the moment. There's another company here called 1320MINI who I'm hearing very good reviews about.
