I'm Travis. I've been obsessed with Minis for about 10 years but wasnt able to pull the trigger on one until recently and man oh man.

I looked and searched for 10 years for the right one. Had to be the right year, right color, right trim, right hood, right everything or I was just not going to be able to talk my penny pinching self into signing the deal.

The night I rescued this Mini from the nameless dealership he was being enslaved to was a liberating night for the both of us.

Driving home I let out a yelp that would have been no doubt mistaken for a 16 year old girl screaming at a rock concert. I did it more than once.

And I am proud. And in love.

I'm so glad I finally got MY Mini! Now I have to go, its in the parking lot and I haven't stared at it for a while. 8)

love yours too!

White was another acceptable color of mine 8) really dig the white ones with black like your sig.
I had mine all of 3 days before I took him to get his windows tinted. I'm not as brave as you, those windows look justifiably illegal! haha

Like you it only took a few days before I needed to tint these windows. I only went 30% and kept it legal

LOL. You waited 10 years to get the exact Mini that you wanted? Wow. You're a more patient man than I am. You deserve to enjoy it. Have fun.

Congrats. You should definitely be proud of your new MINI. The Bon Jovi: not so much. Keep that quiet

Hopefully my own excitment will come in late Augest! I really want a white one, but my step-mom frowns upon white cars and said if i got a white one I couldnt park it in the garage! lol! Yet, we've already got two white cars and a white bicycle in the garage both of coarse my Dad bought.
Her color of choice would be black, but she doesnt think the Mini is tough enough to be black! Oh well, its not her car I know, but I live with her so what does one do.
He, he, anyway point is I cant wait to pick one up this summer and drive it home. Keep us posted with how it goes for yea.

And yet you don't find anything weird about this

Just kidding Why do you think people name these "things"

Welcome to the wonderful insanity drug know as "MINIs" and it is perfectly legal (well, there are speed limits and stop signs...)

Keep in touch and let us know about any "concerts" you go too

Lightening Blue Metallic

Lightening Blue Metallic is the color.
I took it to my mini mechanic (bimmersrus.net) and he gave the car a clean bill of health minus the original battery and a leaking valve cover gasket.
He said the covers commonly warp and would recommend replacing that over the gasket alone. I trust this guy and he has been working on family BMWs for over 10 years.
Going to take my tax money and have him do the timing chain assembly, valve cover, gasket, and all that jazz. I am hoping this will eliminate the risk of that sneaky timing chain insanity. (currently 55400 miles on the odo)
I had Mini look up my vin and there are no recalls pending. I thought the timing chain was a technical bulletin calling for a recall.
I'm going to need a second job to support my Mini addiction!

Unless it was already done, you should be covered by the timing chain 'campaign.' If you hear any cold startup rattle, call Mini USA with the VIN. Could save you a bunch of money.
Enjoy the car!!
