@minimifo
Ha Ha
I read the posts about BRG II w/blk roof
Exactly what I have with the black challenge cross spoke
Very nice look too
Nice to see some others like that combo
I'm smiling inside

well, black or silver all based on personal taste really. i'm not a huge fan of black wheels but more in the middle and have always gone with gun metal myself for most of my cars. i really like the nm eng rse07 in gun metal...simple, not too many spokes and slight concavity.

Since everyone is throwing out opinions. I think the alloy challenge spoke wheels on our cars look fantastic. I cannot understand this fascination with black wheels-just don't get it. How can wheels make a statement about a car when you can't even see them? I truly hope this fad goes away so that wheels can return to being an attractive design element of the car.

They most certainly don't belong on any car from Italy.

Anyway, I vote to keep the OEM wheels-old school I suppose
i just picked mine up but was from mini tinley. is tinley and patrick one and the same dealership? nice to see a fellow columbus mini enthusiast.

picked it up ;-)

so it's made it home just fine. drove over to tinley, il, on saturday in a one-way rental car, dropped it off, picked up the new toy, drove downtown chicago to spend a night at the hard rock hotel, went around michigan ave for a bit on sunday morning, went to the bulls vs. heat (lebron fan here), then drove the 5.5 hrs back home last night.

when i got to the dealership, i took it out for a spin for the 1st time ever...have been dealing all by email and phone. it has been since 2003/4 that i last drove a mini and loved it since. after a quick drive around the blocks, checked out some features back at the delivery area of the dealership, installed the new blendmount mirror mount for my passport max radar detector, finalized paperwork, and away i went. tinley was so easy to deal with and very nice folks. i'd highly recommend the dealer to anyone (adam was my rep...excellent to work with).

it looks even greater in person ;-) what a blast to drive! unfortunately the crazy bad roads in chicago and northern illinois made it rough going on the way out, but thank god none of the wheels got damaged. all worked out great and was able to get it up to spurts of 90-95 mph. i was pleasantly surprised at how much grunt the 1.6 was especially on freeway jumps at lane passing...with and without "sport" mode on.

i did look at some of the 2014's closer, and granted they have new tech and interiors, i just can't get past the new front bumper - kills it for me. my instinct has always says that the 2013 is the best looking cooper. glad i was able to find a great deal and a well packaged jcw.

this was definitely an impulse buy, but man i can't wait to have fun on a daily basis and keep my lambo for even more special drives ;-) i pulled in last night next to my lambo with the mini's o.d. showing 586 miles of pure smiles so far.

received the all weather "mini" front, rear, and boot mats along with the 2 black bonnet stripes with red border from ecs tuning...thx! things to be done:

- scheduled full front end, mirrors, a-pillars, front roof edge, side sills, and rear luggage area to be clear bra'ed with xpel ultimate in 2 wks.

- the same shop will install the bonnet stripes along with tinting the windows 40% on doors and 30% sides and back.

- waiting for the proclip iphone 5s cradle to arrive so i can install it with the kuda dash mount that's already arrived (have kuda and same proclip docks in all my cars).

- will install the escort live direct wire for iphone 5s later this week. i love the fact that bluetooth streaming with my iphone 5s is seamless...can run escort live radar app with alerts, play music, and tomtom navi (even though my car has navi option...just prefer tomtom iphone app more) ALL at same time with all audio/alerts going through the car's speakers. this is how it all works great in my audis and lambo too.

Yes, those are 18's.

They are not a factory option for the US, but I do believe there are a couple different places in the US that you can order them from.

The R133 are here. There a newer design, I do like that they come in matte black and gloss black.

Hi there,

Not sure if they are owned by the same dealer or not. My wife and I got a cheap Southwest flight to MDW, and someone picked us up from the dealership-that way we would only have one car to drive home, because it was nasty.

we had snow/ice all the way into northern Indiana, but the JCW handled it all just fine.

I actually drove from the dealership 1.5 miles to Discount Tire to get those awful runflats swapped for all seasons so we could get home.

I realized a few days ago after driving on dry roads that the all seasons just don't do it for me, so I had some Michelin Pilot Super Sports put on. Completely different car.....handles extremely well now. Can't wait to get it on the Dragon in April

i checked and learned that tinley mini and patrick mini are 2 different dealers. yes, i was thinking of doing the same as you - fly in on free/mileage tix and drive home but made a weekend getaway out of it.

planning to do the same once spring is really here and go with michelin pss tires (on 2nd set of wheels...use stock silver wheels for winter tires later this year) with a flat tire fix-it kit to be safe. been busy so haven't cleaned up the car yet, but yesterday was gorgeous with 65f degs so snapped a couple pix...

Nice shot with the lp550-2 and the R56 JCW.

We need better weather in Ohio for more photo shoots outside.
