Hello! Picking up my '05 S tomorrow!

Really got lots of useful information from this forum over the past week or so, thanks for that!

One question - is there a tonneau cover or something similar that can go over the back seats if they're down? For instance, there will be occasions when I need the extended trunk space but won't want people to see my equipment that's in there, so would like it covered.

Any help much appreciated, thanks!

Thanks Salty! That's a good idea, I'll give that a few tries and see what I can come up with... maybe it'll end up on Kickstarter!

Welcome! I got my '05 S on Halloween day. Nothing scary but how it opened up my eyes the first time I stepped on it! Then just a huge smile :>) We need pics! We love pics!

Lightning blue (or Kite Blue, I'm unsure what it really is) with black stripes; xenon lights; front and rear sun roofs, otherwise stock. funny little skull head tire valve covers and soon to come custom "Blue Meanie" window decals. I had to custom make as they don't exist.

Thanks very much guys! The wave is going strong - although nobody has waved back yet.

Pno2nr, it's at half a gas station just outside Memphis, TN. Couldn't fill up there though, they only had 87 grade gas!

So....What's the other half? It's parked like it won't go near those pumps and stays where it's cool!

[QUOTE=JonShar;3894853]Thanks very much guys! The wave is going strong - although nobody has waved back yet.

My experience has been that the majority of the Mini drivers don't wave back, and I too, picked up my '05 S on Halloween '13. Coming from a Miata where 90% of the owners waved, it's a disappointment.

Then again, if I waved while driving my Outback or Dakota I might get arrested!

I had a Miata previously too, a black/black '97. Seriously considered another one, but once I drove the R53 there was only one winner!

For me sciatica was the determining factor. Couldn't drive more than an hour and a half without pain. The seat/foot position was not working after 8 years. The Mini has it WAY over the Miata for comfort, I'll give you that.

But my wife's Outback has the Mini beat, at least for me.

Getting old isn't everything its cracked up to be!

That's a very good reason to switch!

I tried, but the university system didn't like it.

Anyway, I swear I will wave! Always have always will! Did in trucks on the gravel, did it on motorcycles, and now always in my ''05 MCS. My home base shows my Blue Meanie.
