2005 Hatchback

I just got my mini. I love driving it! Has the rattle though, when I push in the clutch, it of course stops. Everyone at work is liking it, some envy me. I am just curious if there is a mini club in Tennessee. I used to have a chevy scooter. I can honestly say I like my mini better. I think it is an R50. The sticker on the door panel is gone. How can I tell?

If it has a Supercharger and a hoodscoop for the intercooler..it is a r53..aka as a "s"
If it has no hoodscoop and no SC..it is a "cooper", a "just-a", "just-a-cooper", a NON-S, aka r50
if it is a cabrio..a ragtop...it is a r52...the S or NON-S...

Zippy has given you good info. You can also use the vin decoder feature on the left side of this page and explore the options your vehicle came with.

That rattle is usually the Trow out bearing, it could go like that for a while and get worse, in my opinion they are the weakest link , I changed mine and I can hear it lol. Enjoy the car

Welcome to NAM, becksbug and congrats on your new MINI. Did you figure out which model you have with ZippyNH's cheat sheet? You'll find many helpful members here at NAM. We'd love to see a few pics of your new MINI, so post a few why don't you. Happy motoring and please don't forget to promote the MINI wave.

Congrats on your new Mini! I'm also in Tennessee, Memphis - if you find a Mini club let me know!
