Hi Guys New Member
Recently bought a 2006 Cooper Convertable in Pepper White as a weekend plaything. I suppose you could call me a Car Freak as I have had 12 cars over the last 3-4 years. I get a fancy for a car and impulsively just go and get one, until the novelty wears off and then turn to something else. I now reside in Houston, and been in the States for 19 years now, working all over the country in my position as a Contract Marine Designer. You could say Minis are NOT new to me as I had one of the very first Minis in 1959 when I lived in Great Britain (OOPS Showing my age). I always owned at least one Mini, and sometimes 2 or 3. The current Minis though are so much different but still fun to drive. I was until recently, an owner of 2 x Chrysler Crossfire Convertables, and was an active member of the International Crossfire Car Club. Although there were approx 100+ Crossfires in the Houston area, at our Get-Togethers we could not get more than 5-6 cars to turn up. We mixed more with the Dallas & San Antonio members. Getting a bit too old now to do too much of the club "Get Together" activities, but MAY be interested in activities in the reasonably close proximity of Houston (say withing 200 miles or so) I will keep in touch and see what happens. Hope to meet up with some of you on this Forum, AND maybe in person SOON. Cheers Guys, happy driving AND be SAFE.

Welcome aboard! You will have to start a thread to see how many members on NAM have bought a NEW original Mini. That would be a great poll to see. Just left Texas from racing on Saturday. I wish I would have been driving the MINI instead of the high roof Mercedes Sprinter. Over 100 miles of 70 MPH + cross winds almost blew us over! I've never seen so many semi trucks pulled off the road in my life.
