New R56 owner, long time lurker.

Hey guys, I just purchased a used 2012 MCS and decided to post on here. Up until this point, I've never really had anything to post to these forums since I didn't have a Mini (or even a car).

My Mini is a manual with a few sporty extras from the factory. I am planning on adding a few mods as my paychecks begin rolling in. I'm a recent graduate working for a large automotive manufacturer. Unfortunately, I can't use their parts (and discounts) in my cooper.

Some of the mods that I plan on installing first are:
Stubby antenna - $20
Torque arm inserts - $59
19mm Rear sway bar - $220

Once I have some extra cash I'll go about changing the tires from the incredibly stiff run-flats to something a little sportier/more comfortable. Maybe invest in upgrading my rims and brakes before purchasing an intercooler.

I plan on using this magnificent motoring machine as a daily driver, but I may eventually throw it on the track for a track day or autocross. I don't plan on sinking a ton of money in this little project of mine because I plan on eventually working on restoring a muscle car. Assuming all goes well and I can rent/buy a house with a garage.

I only really have one picture of my car at the moment, it's BRGII with white roof/mirrors/rims and white stripes.

Thanks for the suggestion, I was originally planning on going with a 22mm (25.5mm hollow) bar. However, after doing some reading online, I figured 19mm was a good compromise between performance and usability. I don't plan on doing a lot of serious driving for a little while. I'd rather not have my MCS be too twitchy on the road. If further down the line I become more active in track use or autocross, I may be tempted to increase to the 22mm (25.5mm hollow) and sell my then used 19mm.

Feel free to let me know if you think this is a poor choice.

totally understand your thought process. it's my opinion that with the hollow on soft the cars not going to be twitchy. I drive the car around with the middle setting on all the time on sticky summer tires, no twitchiness to speak of. maybe if you're pushing really hard and do a hard lift car will get loose. I wouldn't push that hard on the street though.

Go with the bigger bar (22 or 25.5) and put it on the softest setting. I have a 22 on the middle setting and don't have issues.

I will probably end up getting the 25.5mm hollow h-sport rsb in addition to the torque arm insert. I should be able to install those with the help of a more car savvy buddy of mine (tracks his 350z regularly). I may also buy some of those small mudflaps since some of the roads don't get plowed in the winter and some are even dirt/gravel. I believe my MCS has the correct body panels for the mudguards without having to modify them.

Also, I cleaned up the car this weekend and took better pictures.
