Picking up my '06 MCS Convertable today

I'm very excited to be picking up my MINI today. If anyone has any tips or things to watch for on an '06 MCS I'd appreciate the advice.

Thanks!

Welcome to the R52 Community. Nothing like a top down drive on a summer night!

Topless motoring is motoring at it's best!
A few ideas:
Dry lube once in a while for the scissor joints.
303 or Ragg Topp for the canvas.
A vacuum with upholstery brush works OK for getting dust off the back so you can run it down. I don't like the idea of dust and grit cutting the fiber as the canvas folds.
If you didn't get one with it don't stop hunting till you find a wind deflector.
If it's not raining, snowing or idiots throwing empty beer cans in the back seat, there's no reason for the top to be up.
Also, look into MINIs In The Ozarks this October. http://www.ozarkmini.com/

Welcome to NAM, MiniFann and congrats on your new MINI. I concur with Fly'n Brick's assessment about owning a convertible. Happy motoring and please don't forget to wave.

?

I give up, Fly'n Brick. What's missing? Also, I wanted to ask something. I want to clean the engine bay. Do I need to cover the supercharger intake area?

Thanks for all the welcomes! I am loving this car!

That canvas thingie isn't where it's supposed to be!
Cover the fuse box and electrical connections and just spritz a spray with a little simple green or dawn detergent then work around everything with a microfiber detailing wand. DO NOT run your baby thru a car wash. Car washes are for things like dodge caravans and jeep patriots, appliances nobody really cares what happens to 'em.

" That canvas thingie isn't where it's supposed to be! " Ah, the top is up and its should be in the down position, especially on a nice day.

Good one!

Haha! You got me good. In my defense, that pic was taken by the dealer. I just robbed it off of his website. I'll be loading more pics into my gallery as soon as I can peel myself from behind the wheel! This is one of the most fun cars I've ever driven.
