Should there be a MINI-van?

Hi everyone,

New member here, but long time motorer. I love my R53 road hugger, but with a wife and two rapidly growing kids, it's time for me to add another member to the family that can move us plus some tag alongs out and about.

I love the Clubman and Countryman offerings, but unfortunately I'll need something bigger to fit family, relatives, friends and all their belongings on road trips. Sadly I'll have to look outside MINI for this

This made me start thinking...who else wishes that MINI would make a van for longer excursions with bigger parties? Not a "mommy van" but something characteristically MINI in quality, style, and sportiness. Is it too BIG a departure from the brand's image? What if it were a "mini" RV instead of a minivan?

Thanks for letting me think out loud!

I don't think every mfg needs to fill every category, nor does every Mini owner need to buy another Mini when their vehicle needs change. Mini had to go to the crossover and 4-door categories, but they don't need to build vans or pickups. Mazda makes a great small van - I doubt Mini could build anything any better.

I really wanted one of those.
Saw it just as we were looking at a MINI for the wife.
They killed it due to some tax on import trucks, yep, classed as a truck, think it was on MotoringFile.
Anyway, I'd buy the fJCW version of that in a heart beat!

Had one at my dealership for a while, just a clubman with no back windows. no more storage really.

@rckrzy1
Yeah I saw the pics when it was announced.
The possibilities are endless.
Plus there are no back seats, and I know about the backseat delete kit, but having it factory smooth would have been nice.
