Picked up a 2004 Mini Cooper S JCW Recently!

I picked up this little gem a few months ago to use as a daily driver here in Lake Tahoe.

It's a 2004 Mini Cooper S with the optional JCW package and around 75,000 miles.

Here are a few photos from when I bought it, enjoy!

Here is a list of mods it has. I will update as I find more :D
  • Wilwood Big Brake Kit
  • Volk CE28n 17x8 Wheels (Bronze)
  • Front M7 Strut Tower Brace
  • Rear Strut Tower Brace
  • Adjustable Rear Lateral Links
  • Front Underbody Bracing
  • Rear Sway Bar
  • Fubrication GP Style Wing
  • Megan Racing Coilovers
  • DDMWorks Cold Air Intake (black)
  • Forge Aluminium Coolant Tank
  • Whiteline Bushings
  • Alta Exhaust
  • Lightweight Supercharger Pulley

Wow! That is a sharp MINI! Congratulations on that find. You may want to take it easy on spinning doughnuts in the Sears parking lot though, it's hard on the tires.

Haha thanks Mib! Believe me, I couldn't spin donuts in this car if I tried!

I'm still trying to figure out what all the previous owner did to it as far as aftermarket parts . There's a ton of stuff modified on this thing!

Also, I may or may not have autocrossed it for the first time last weekend... Heh.

Welcome to NAM, Snoshado and congrats on your recently new MINI. That's a very interesting art installation there in the Sears parking lot.

If it is the early JCW kit it wont have the 380cc JCW injectors unless the previous owner put them in. They are an easy upgrade and the JCW 210 ECU flash will bring it up to the 2005 + JCW performance.

90% of it...the 2005+ cars also got revised gearing....but still a good cheap mod unless the car already has a custom tune...unlikely since you said you cannot spin the tires...
If you look under the intercooler some time, look at the fuel injectors.... If they have a blue part, they are jcw380's....a tanish yellow is the stock s or early JCW ones.

I'll check out the injectors this weekend. Thanks for the tip! As far as spinning tires... I can absolutely do this - to the point of pouring smoke out of the wheel wells haha. I just don't understand how to do donuts in a FWD car?

On a side note: My car is having massive shifting issues but only when I've been driving for more than 30 minutes or so. It barely goes into gear when this happens but I'll let it sit overnight and everything's fine the next day.

Any thoughts?
