New guy here

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. Name is Josh, I live here in Fort Bragg, NC. I recently purchased a 2006 Mini Cooper S, and I must say I absolutely love this car. Been a long time F body driver so it was hard to switch but am glad I did. Look forward to learning more and possibly helping out when I can. I have about 16 years experience turning wrenches so I'm not too clueless about cars.

Welcome to the MINIacs.

Fort Bragg? What unit? I was with the 504 and 505 PIRs.

MINIs are ok to work on, don't rush and use the correct tool. Don't be afraid of asking questions and learn all you can.

Motor on!

Hey Josh

I too am a new Mini owner coming from muscle car background, I gather from your F body statement. I've been trying to attach pics to my post for 45min with no luck but it's because I'm using my phone lol. I have some shade tree mechanic experience too. Hopefully we can figure this out together!

I work with a logistics unit here, not part of the 82nd. I have been slowly collecting some of then special tools it seems are required. This mini was not maintained as well as it should have been. Luckily I think I can catch it before it's too bad. Just turned 100k so getting ready to pull the supercharger, replace water pump, etc are on the near future. Along with anything else that may be prudent. She has some cosmetic issues but nothing that can't be easily fixed over time.
