Hello there...
New member here. Mini owner for 2 years now. Started with replacing a Sequoia for something with better mileage, but still 4WD/AWD ability. Led us to the Countryman in 2012 - Light white with black boot/bonnet/side stripes...and the StormCooper was born. We love it and the ALL4 handled Sierra Nevada snow over I-80 with ease, especially with the auto trans.
Then 5 months ago my oldest daughter totaled her 2000 VW NB so she got to drive the minivan. We got a used 2006 JCW convertible in Hot Metallic Orange with blue top and blue leather...and Rebel Fighter came to be. Completely "stock", but love it.
Now the same daughter just got a 2006 MCS in Black-eye purple, automatic, stock. In keeping with the naming convention, R2D2 Cooper has joined the family. She's had the car for 2.5 weeks and we seem to have an electrical failure of some sort where no start, but instrument panel seems okay. Wife and I were out of town when this happened, so didn't see it myself. Saw some posts about water leaking to BCM in wheel well and/or corroded ground terminal under hood. She had car towed to dealer we bought it from and off today to go look at it.
This place is a goldmine of information, so much so that it's hard to mine the data you're looking for sometimes. Will be posting more in relevant threads regarding DIY stuff. Apprentice garage mechanic here, brake jobs, oil changes, etc is about my skill level.
