How's it going guys, Just picked up an 08 Pepper white S for the wife. Never was really into the cooper but its growing on me. Biggest complaint so far is the high engine bay temps, Those are ridiculous.
Currently we're living in Biloxi originally from California I'm more into Subarus. I drive an 04 Forester XT. Don't have any pictures of the cooper yet and I don't think you'd like to see the Subaru.
I look forward to getting to know you guys and hopefully get some good information on keeping this thing running and possibly modifying it without the wife knowing.

Cheers

Also if anyone can tell me why I'm finding oil on the wastegate, i'd appreciate it.

Where is the oil originating from?

Great looking car!

Check the crush washers on the turbo oil feed line. Is oil running down the cartridge onto the wastegate?

Oh, and congrats on the new ride--and don't forget that with R56s, you have to change the oil early and often. Don't be shy to do it ever 4-5k miles.

How's it going, been almost a year with the mini. So the oil near the turbo was the oil return line. Replaced that and then there was a slew of oil leaks that had to be fixed. Most recent was the front crank seal which the dealership had to replace 3 times because they were installed wrong twice.

Recently I did the intercooler muffler delete which makes the car sound meaner. Really looking at the AEM intake and possibly a resonator delete.

Also I've found a Rupse gps that I can't find too much info about. Well I'll try to keep you guys more informed as I go.

You're definitely getting into the Cooper thing! Getting it sealed up is half the fun. To control those high temperatures under the hood (bonnet in Mini speak) I can only suggest one thing... move north, young man! Way north!

Your wife's Minimobile looks great!

The oil line is a common leak, but glad you got that and your other oil leaks fixed. Also, check out what M7 intakes are available for your R56 here.
