Hi from a new Mini Maniac in Missouri
Hi Everyone,
The group here seems pretty friendly and very helpful, I'll try to be a positive addition. Being part of an internet group should always be fun.
Sportscars have always been a joy for me since my Dad took me for a drive in his TR-3. My experience has been mostly with Hondas, CRXs in particular. I have been autocrossing since 1981 and got pretty serious about it at times. I enjoy turning wrenches and coming up with new solutions to mechanical problems. I expect to be into the Mini action for a while, so there will probably be a few projects with my name on them.
At the moment I haven't acquired my first Mini yet. It seems to check all the boxes for my next project and daily dose of driving fun. My 1988 CRX Si has been great, but two seats has been an inconvenience for too long, old parts break too easy, upholstery wears out, and it's a BC car (before cup holders). Mini Coopers have some handling performance, acceleration, and cool looks.
I'm having somewhat of a Midlife Crazy deal going on...and Corvettes don't get great mileage. This is all about fun!
Cheers!

Welcome to NAM,
I am sure you will be very pleased once you pull the MINI trigger. These cars are so much fun, filled with performance that really surprises the non informed. I love when friends who haven't ridden in a MINI take a spin with me and are floored by how fast these little cars start, stop and corner. Plus they are amazed at how good they sound too!
Enjoy your time here!
