Hi all,
Been enjoying the forum for the last few days. Just brought home my 2004 R53 with only 33k on the clock. Can't wait to learn more about the car and figure out what I want to do with it.

Not yet, I'll snap some this weekend. Nothing really special inside, black pleather interior and the typical saggy headliner.

Thanks! I've checked out some of those articles as well as your parts selection. All very nice. I'm going to need a couple of the jack point plastic pads, two of mine are missing.

When you do post them up.

You can fix the headliner with 3m headliner spray adhesive or get a new one .

Really like this community! Very helpful folks. Unfortunately no pics this weekend, I decided to check the air filter and found the intake hose to be in pretty poor shape. Even had some cracks so I searched for a replacement (found one). Also noticed the coolant overflow tank leaking. I'm aware of this common problem and will get an aluminum one sometime in the future. Already spent the "mod" budget this month on some ECS strut tower plates to help protect the still non-mushroomed condition.

Welcome
Indi Blue if I am not mistaken
The best color for that year
That mileage has my wife's MINI (Indi Blue) beat by 20K; go you.

This guy is in your neighborhood and a great read:

As for winter, these are fantastic cars. Just need a set of really good snow tires on 15" or 16" wheels. Don't go wider than stock. And wash it a lot to keep the salt off.

The best thing to do with it is: HAVE FUN
It won't take much time to figure that out....

Yep, I drive it year 'round. Just need a good set of snow tires.

Also, if you haven't already discovered it, I'll put in a plug for Greasy's Garage in Worcester; he's the local MINI guru.

Today the rear wiper turned it self on when I started the car and won't stop? Also don't think the squirters are working but haven't confirmed that the fluid isn't out.
Had to pull the fuse to get it to stop.
Any ideas?

Did you check the wiper stalk ? Click it back and forth a couple time , the contacts might be sticking or something.

Front or rear squirters ? Headlight washers ( xenon only ) ?

I did click the stalk on and off many times. Neither the front or rear washers work as they had the day before. No headlight washers. Front wiper operation is normal. I put the fuse back in and now the rear wiper doesn't turn on at all. Still no Front or rear washers.

I checked the connections at the motor itself, everything looks good.

Looks like a fuse again, that does not make sense on the washer jets, did you check all the fuses under the hood / kick panel and relays ?

Yup, checked all the fuses in both places. Even swapped the relays to see if any changes.
I'm thinking there's something going on in the steering column, lousy contact perhaps.

BTW - just got the STP's! Great looking part. Thanks for the quick service and helping out here.

Yes, I was thinking after that the check the column switch stalk itself. You might need a new stalk if the contacts inside the stalk are damaged or cracked. The stalk itself get heavy use.

You are welcome and glad i could help. Thanks for the order , i have the Black ECS STP on my R52 right now.
