I can't believe I've only just now found this site!

Hello everyone! I have been driving my 2006 R53 since I bought it new in '06, and I absolutely love it! I've recently gotten into racing (starting the NASA track), and so with that comes working on my vehicle..and I've happened across this site a few times in my searchings for tips etc. I figured it was finally time to break down and register as I may eventually have some questions myself.

My Mini was the first new car I ever purchased, and at 19 it was a rather significant investment for me...however, it was the best money I ever spent. While my friends have gone through many cars in the almost decade I've had mine...I've only ever had to change the oil, breaks, and rotors (knock on wood) while they have all had two or more cars. These are amazing machines!

My partner just purchased his own Mini today for his birthday, and so I was doing some looking around at possible modifications he may be interested in making before he starts at the track next season..and again I happened on this site. His is a 2008 MCS, and it's absolutely adorable! I'll have to post pictures when it's light enough to take some. I'll be teaching him to drive manual tomorrow evening by the way...I had to drive his car home from the dealership today .

Anyway, here's a picture of my Mini..I'll probably post some more sometime with interior etc. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all! I've rambled on long enough. Car pictures!

Welcome OGirly, Nice R53, Like you I've had my R53 since 2006 and have had 'zero' problems "knock on wood". I done most of the 'mods' mentioned on this Website except anything requiring pulling the head or tranny. Within the "hollowed" halls of this sites walks many Mini gurus that are willing provide any help you need with you Mini.... Welcome and good luck.

Welcome to NAM! I too compete with NASA. Working to get my license with them to compete in their TT. Then maybe work my way into their wheel to wheel. What HPDE are you in? If you do ever have questions about NASA or your MINI please do not hesitate to ask.
