New R56 owner in MN, first mini

Just picked it up yesterday. 2010 MCS in Dark Silver, black roof. Only had 9,900 miles at the time of purchase. Local original owners, retired couple. Carbon lounge interior, sport package, pano roof, 6-spd, premium package, Nav, clear bra dealio... It's great. Also got a 48,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, because... It is a mini. Excited to make it my own.

Surprisingly got 38mpg on my 2 hour hwy commute home. Averaged 70mph.

More soon...

They didn't drive it enough to keep the battery charged. Great purchase, now get some miles on that poor car! And take some pictures when you can. I'm blown away by the MPG capabilities, too. All rounder type car. Way fun to drive.

Thanks. Couldn't figure out how to not have the light lines from the fogs... But they're still neat pics.

You're welcome. It's the glare on the lens, but oddly enough I really like them in those photos. Almost looks like they were intentional.

Pictures of car look great, and car looks great. Black seats with white piping look like new. Quite the low miles find! Location is really nice... the rock retaining walls on the bridge remind me of Bar Harbor's network of carriage trails.

Also noticed some frozen stuff on the car. Something we've seen almost none of this fall on this side of the country. Where did you take these pics?

And, anyone know of MN specific Mini Cooper clubs or forums? Thanks

Set up to get the windows tinted on Jan. 7th... Hoping it will help with the glaring headlights behind me and protect stuff in the boot/trunk/backseat a little more. Planning on just tinting the back three Windows, maybe 35%? The shop said $175 for back three windows... Seems fair.

Planning on putting some tint on the mirrors too.

Are ppl removing the chrome trims to plasti-dip them? Or just taping them off...? Prob will wait till spring to do this, but I like to plan ahead.

I got my windows tinted 35% for $170 (all windows except the front windshield). In the sun, it's not that noticeable, but when its raining they look very dark. I got it done from a place I found on craigslist and they did a really nice job. Think they are called tintpros. As far as the chrome trims, just tape them off or peel off the overspray. As long as your overspray is thick, it comes off very easy!

Experienced the cold weather car wash window freeze yesterday. I was worried I broke the open/close door window retraction feature... Once it warmed up it worked fine again. But it needed a wash... Baaaaaaadly.
