New Owner Introducing Myself
Hi all,
I've been a member for some time, but have seldom posted. Hoping to change that and get a bit more active. I previously had an '05 R53, which I've just traded.
My first Mini was in my family for almost 10 years and gave us a lot of trouble-free enjoyment. My old man bought it in 2006, and sold it to me about 4 years ago when he bought a Countryman.
I loved my R53 to death, but years of New England winters had done their worst to the body, and some issues were starting to arise.
I did not want to get rid of my R53, but it did not seem like a financially smart decision to put thousands into it (115k on it to boot).
I played with the idea of getting into a new F56, but they just don't have the same appeal as the R53 to me. I was always scared of the N13/14 motors / timing chains from some horror stories I read, so a 2nd gen was out of the question for me.
So, I decided to search for a low mileage R53 I could enjoy and "know" what I was getting into. After a long wait, I finally came to a deal on my new R53... A one-owner, 42k mile example.
I'm thrilled to my new Mini, and I look forward to driving it in good health.
I'm not wild about the color scheme...red mirrors on this is a bit wild and the 1st owner welded some kind of clothes hanger in the boot...he must not have measured very well, because it's too low to be of much use...
Happy Motoring,
Sooper
PS: A bit of an April Fools...I'm well aware what the GP is and just how special it is. Mine is build # 0137.
