A smiling new MINI Cooper S owner

Picked it up last Friday and been smiling since.

2011 MINI Cooper S
  • 53.5k miles
  • 6 Speed
  • Sports Package
  • Cold Weather Package
  • New Tires
  • Recent maintenance: Timing belt, thermostat, brakes

Only thing I'm worried about the car is that it was an east coast car for 3 years before moving out to California. You guys think I should worry about rust with the undercarriage? The thing drives beautifully, and seems as though it shouldn't need any maintenance anytime soon.

So happy to join the MINI crew. Went out and took some pictures of the new ride this weekend, even ran into a MINI group down by the Golden Gate Bridge that were on a road trip together.

Now to read through dozens of threads in the detailing section to brush up on my detailing skills.

WELCOME! My mini is similar to yours in year and model. I replaced the spark pugs at 60k. Its easy, if you like wrenching on your own car. Buy the specialty magnetic socket and knock it out of the park!

PS- I like mothers back to black on the plastic trim.

Congrats on your new purchase! Any modifications made by the prior owner, and do you have a wish list? Get the car up on jack stands or a lift at your local service station and inspect with a flash light in case there is any corrosion, but think you're probably fine.
