New to NAM. 05 MCS convertible 6 Speed

howdy! I've been the proud owner of an 05 MCS convertible R53 with a 6 speed manual for just over 6 weeks now. It's hot orange metallic with the midnight blue top. I have an 09 Bullitt Mustang GT and I honestly am having more fun driving the mini. It's got 128k on the odometer and had my first belt snap today! It's my first maintenance issue so I guess I'm officially part of the club!

I'm located in Santa Rosa Beach FL in case anyone wants to meet.

Welcome to NAM, any pictures.

Be sure to check all the pulleys as when the belt brakes there is the chance that the tensioner might chew one up.

Thanks for the advice! I don't have access to a garage at the moment so it's going to at Sports Motoring in Santa Rosa Beach, FL until they can help with the maintenance next Wednesday.

Do you mean photos of the car or the busted belt?

A few mods and the Mustang will pull over and then try to keep up with the MINI on a good twistie road.

And from what I have been told, Cali has no twisties like we have over along the Appalachian.

Welcome and Congrats

If the belt broke make sure you check the crank pulley as they are very common failures and very likely the cause. If so get a new ATI damper.
