New Guy

Just bought an untouched 05 MCS 6 Speed in Pepper White with 64K on the clock. Looking forward to engaging with you all on various topics. I have a;ready started with the following maintenance.
Oil Change
Strut Tower Braces
New Serpentine belt kit
New Air Filter
Brake Flush
Cooling Fan Shield
New Passenger Side Seat Tracks
Brake Cleaning, Caliper paint

So far I have found that the Brake Fluid is dark red. possibly the original, same goes for the air filter(Black), oil was really dirty but no smell of burnt. So far not too bad.
Anything else I should look at?

Welcome,

Sounds like you have a great list. Brake fluid should be dark brown to amber if older and stock. They might have put some aftermarket fluid in there or something.
I would change out the manual trans fluid soon. As check that cabin filter, they can get dirty and forgot about.

Welcome to the forum. I just installed a 15% underdrive supercharger pulley (among other maintenance items like front hubs/bearings, crank position sensor o-ring, crankshaft seal, rear sway bar bushings/links, air filter, cabin filter, A/C compressor, NGK Iridium plugs, serpentine belt, supercharger service, and various o-rings/gaskets) on my '04 MC40 and cannot believe the performance increase afforded by the smaller pulley (not to mention the great sound). You'll love it and might want to consider the pulley as your first upgrade once your maintenance items are completed. "Socalva" (on this forum) builds/sells a fantastic device (which I bought from him) that reprograms your windows (auto up/down) and turns off the DSC upon start up - very clever.

Hi and welcome to the NAM family!
You can find tons of info in the gen 1 area.

Oil Change: Make sure to use full synthetic oils in this car
Strut Tower Braces: Always a good thing
New Serpentine belt kit: Check to see if the idler bearings are good on the adjuster
New Air Filter: Always a good idea!
Brake Flush: Another good idea (there is a way to bleed the ABS, but requires a system compatible with BMW/ Mini
Cooling Fan Shield: Make sure that the low speed fan is checked as they are always an issue and in summer, it will get you!
New Passenger Side Seat Tracks
Brake Cleaning, Caliper paint
