Proud R53 Owner
Hey NAM! I'm the owner of a 2006 hyper blue R53 from Florida. I've had it for about four and a half months, and have used NAM many times for various inquiries, yet I am just now making an account. My R53 is my first car, and personally I think it's the best first car anyone could have! I've done a lot to it since it's been in my possession, and much more is in store for it in the future. I wish you all a great new year! Happy motoring!

Well I've done a lot of maintenance to it. Spark plugs, oil pan, valve cover gaskets, belt and tensioner, the usual wear and tear components replaced.
As for future plans, I have many. I want to respray the car, since rock chips cover the hood and bumper, and there's the smallest rust spot near the left taillight. Cosmetically the car's in solid shape, there's just small things I'd change such as the chrome-lined grilles, yuck. The supercharger needs to be serviced. I need to replace pretty much most of suspension, front and back. A big brake kit is in order, and some lightweight wheels wrapped in some sticky tires are necessities. A 15% pulley reduction, a better cold air intake, and a Miltek will do in terms of bolt-ons. Basically, I want Blu to be a well rounded street car, with enough power and sound to scare my passenger, but have what it takes to prove itself at the track. Pictures on the way.

Pretty good plan though, especially for a first car! It is never safe to assume anymore, but does first car indicate that you're still in your teens? If so, then I'm really impressed. Too many of my peers complain about your peers not being into cars anymore. Good to see you proving them wrong.
Be smart about scaring passengers. Not saying don't have fun on the street, just be wise in choosing the time and place.
(sorry, I'm a dad, and fortunate enough to have survived my own bad choices-do as I say, not as I did.) 😳😉
Let’s see pics!

Haha, thanks! Yes, I'm in my teens, and I feel as if there are no people my age who are into cars anymore! It's unfortunate; I wish I had friends I could have come over and work with me on the old hoopty. All the experience I have comes from years of reading and wrenching with my dad on the driveway.
As for scaring the passengers, yes, I realize that when I drive I have the safety of not only myself, but the passenger and those on the road to think about. Just some small pulls to impress the friends is all.

Welcome, and post up some pics! I remember when the hyper blue came out.
