I have been wanting a Mini for a while now and last year I was all set to buy one until a sweet deal came along on a 2000 Audi TT well after a year i have found that at 53 years old even though I love the car I dont love that you have to be a contortonist to get in and out of it so today im trading it for a 2003 Mini Cooper S the car i wanted to start with

Welcome to the forum and the MINI experience. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

I looked at an Audi TT the morning I bought my MINI I liked it but it was no MINI. I was searching for a sports car that drives like a MINI and I finally decided that the only thing that drives like a MINI is a MINI.

By the way, 53 is close to the middle of the bell curve for members of the forum.

Welcome. I was similarly looking at other sports cars. But, being tall and wide along with 50 yrs old I didn't like the idea of getting in and out. A hot hatchback is the best of both worlds, quick and fun but also easy to get in and out. I think the Mini is the best of that for a fun everyday driver. I'm sure you'll like it.

Nice car!

Similar story here.

Old guy wants fun car, buys a Miata.

After 3 weeks realizes it isn't going to work long term.

MINI is just as much fun to drive but much easier to get in & out of.
