Welcome to NAM

Hey gang, this is our first time writing in a forum and first time owner of, not one but, two minis. Didn't realize how much fun they were! So, where do we go to learn all the right stuff? (ie: the dragon, dragon in the mountains, first gear, second, etc. gear?) There's a lot more to learn than just driving the coolest cars on the planet.
Welcome everybody!

Welcome dez! Yes, if you have a question you should check to see if you are in the right forum for your question (1st gen car, 2nd gen car, off-topic, detailing, etc) and then make a new post. Even better, you can do a search in that forum to see if there is an existing thread (collection of posts) and place your question there.

Thanks for this terrific site. We were looking at different models and this site helped us make up our minds. (altho some the mini issues scared me at first). And thanks to alllllll the info on here, we were able to go in to the dealership and be very informed. We will pick up our MC clubman on Saturday. Able to find one on the lot that was pretty close to what we would have ordered.

Hello!
Well, I did it. I finally got her. I started out in 1988 when a buddy rolled up in a 1965 cooper s, love at first sight. Have wanted one since.
I was finally in a place where I could buy one. I got her from NY (sight unseen) at 75,000 miles for a really good price. When she got here I could tell the "owner" could not be a mini lover. She has been "USED". I am slowly fixing everything. One day I hope to have her shine like many of yours.
I have learned TONS from the site in the short time I've been here.
Thanks

Congrats on your purchase feedDunk. From the picture I c it looks really nice and if you take care of it the way you say it will it will look amazing... Unfortunately, me and my Mom have different views about cars. For me the Mini that we own is my baby but for my Mom it's just mean of transportation. The first day we bought it, she touched the door with another car. I was heartbroken because it also got scratched :(. O well when my mom gets a car the baby's all mine to take care of .

Hello all,
I've posted on other threads but this is my "official" intro. Let's see, I was fascinated by the Mini when if first came over here to the states, but I really started to fall in love when my dad purchased his '05 MCS. Now, 4 years of grueling college courses later, he's buying me my first car ever! I took a test drive of it back in January and completely fell in love. Sometime in June my Mini will arrive (Dad won't tell me the exact dates because he doesn't want me to be distracted from studying), and I simply cannot wait! Check out my signature for my configuration.

Shopper saying hi
Greetings everyone. Josh from Seattle here.
I've been shopping around for a Mini lately and started browsing through these forums for additional information. I've found them to be very helpful (especially the tips on what to expect when ordering a new mini). I've been on several test drives now, but haven't yet decided to pull the trigger and buy one. I'm going to keep browsing around these boards for more driver experiences, but in the meantime....just wanted to say hi!

Howdy all,
I decided to get back into Solo II after about a 5 year layoff, decided I would give MINI a try. Last 5 solo cars were all rear drivers so this is going to be a change for me. So far it has been a hoot to drive, MC 5sp/MFSW/Canadian sport package/sun roof/cold weather package. First event won't be for another 2 weeks. I have lots of questions, looking for opinions. Looking forward to the next turn in the road!!!

New to NAM but post on the V8 Motorcycle forums with Boss Hoss.
WE were in Baton Rouge ,La. with motor home for a few days and stop by Mini dealer not intending to buy just looking and test drove Clubman JCW and bought it. --- Very fun car.
Wife followed me home about 300Mi. everything ok. Next day drove the car about 150 miles and yellow check engine code comes on and lost power.
Shipped it to Dallas for service with 600 miles on it. They called today said all they could find was radio had 3 low volt codes - they reset and was shipping it back to me.
Said they had never had this to happen .
Hope this is not a LEMON ???
