Howdy Y'All!

I just purchased a used '03 Pure Silver MCS from CarMax. I know, I know..That's not the best way to buy a MINI, but it was within budget. The original owner only put 13K on her (that's something I can't figure out--who would give this beauty away, and WHY?). She was originally purchased from MINI of Sterling in Virginia, but since I live in Maryland, I am thinking of having her serviced in Annapolis. I love the acceleration, and the gearshift ****, and the handling and...well, I could go on, but I realize I'm among the already converted here. It was wonderful finding this site. I hope to learn a lot from you all, and eventually give something back in return. My very first question-- Is the Bentley MINI manual any good? I owned a VW Jetta and a VW Passat before this, and the Bentley's were the best.

Thanks!
DK

Welcome to NAM.

To answer your question, yes the MINI Bentley Manual lives up to the high standards established in the VW series.

Hey yasodic-

We still have the Passat (1999 V6). It is really funny, I used to love the Passat's clutch which engaged almost near the top. Having driven that car for 5 years, It took me about a week to get used to my MINI's clutch which engages about 5 cm from the floor. Now I have a truly difficult time adjusting back to the Passat. It seems WRONG. Love the Cooper!

Welcome!

Welcome to NAM!

Be sure to check out the DC Metro MINIs forum for events local to the MD/DC/NoVA area:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...splay.php?f=85

I also attend some PhillyMINI sponsored events, as well. Their forum home is:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/phillymini/

Cheers!

P.S. The Bentley Manual is worth every penny. If it had been released early enough, I wouldn't have bothered getting a copy of the BMW/MINI TIS CD

Welcome to NAM, SilverSkater! The Bentley manual is worth every cent it costs. Enjoy your pretty Pure Silver MCS! The DC Metro MINIs club is awesome! I've partied with them a few times on my MINI motoring adventures. Do join them!
