New to Mini, but finally got one of our dreams!
Hey guys, it's nice to see such an enthusiastic group of people into these cars! My wife and I recently payed off all our debt and treated ourselves to her dream car. 2013 Mini Clubman. We bought it used with 104k miles on it from Carvana as there were none for sale in our price range near us. It was delivered from Texas last week and we LOVE this car, which makes the next part sort of disheartening. Day 2 of our 7 day test drive that the site gives you, the check engine light came on with a P0171.
I've worked on cars my entire life, but usually Japanese in nature, and always older cars from the 90s. I was hoping that someone might have a common cause for this, or could tell me if a change in humidity or elevation could cause some issues as it went from near sea level Texas, to high and dry Montana plains. It idles odd during the first start of the day but drives good, although I *think* there is a very small lag at low acceleration (but I'm used to cars not as responsive as these). Look forward to fixing this issue and loving this car for a long long time, thank you!

Could be the result of the altitude change, and the car having to make a big, sudden adjustment to it’s Fuel Trims.
Cars can run rough for awhile, while the ECM relearns.

Exactly...I tow my 2011 Clubman S behind a motorhome. Three years ago we hooked it behind the RV in Kansas City and towed it to Denver and unhooked. Started and drove for a little bit, ran rough and fired an engine code (don't remember which one). The engine roughness cleared after limited driving. After several starts and the limited driving, the code cleared.
Fill it up with some local top tier gas and drive it (not spirited) for a few days. Great looking car by the way!
