Newbie in Boise, Idaho

Hi All,
Just wanted to put up my initial post and let you all know how much I enjoyed reading your posts prior to purchasing my '02 MCS. They played a large part in my decision to purchase. Of course, I have been grinning ever since!

Hi Shamus,

I live in New Jersey, but spent eight months in Boise on a consulting project. Loved Boise, and kinda miss it...

Regards, Glenn

Welcome. I lived in Boise for a year (Forest Service) about two years ago and loved every minute of it. Nice city, nice people.

Where do U service your Mini? SLC? Cheers Jimbo

I have a 2018 Mini Countryman S. I bought it in Las Vegas where I lived two years ago. I previously owned a 2015 Mini hardtop S 4 door. i bought that car in Scottsdale (lived in Tucson). I truly loved that car, it was so fun to drive. But after 3 years, the gas mileage went down about 5 mpg which disappointed me, plus it was just too small. When people came to visit, it was cramped. So I bought my Countryman. I was disappointed in the lack of fun factor. I got a Dinan plug in engine tuner. It made it more fun, but the turbo lag was more pronounced. Now I live in little Clarkston ID. My car is still under warranty and I drive to Seattle (I have a son who lives there) to get it serviced. I don’t work on cars, nor does my husband. I’m disappointed (using that word a lot) because if I need service, I have to go to Seattle, a five hour drive. The saving grace is my son and family live there. I had to drive there to replace the battery. No one knew how to do that here. The warranty is amazing, though. I had brake sensor issues which caused my brakes to get completely worn on the inside. Don’t know why no one noticed that before. Anyway, Seattle Mini towed my car there and gave me a rental and then towed it back. I didn’t pay anything. Then there was another issue with the brakes. They did it all again! Since my warranty is about to run out, I feel I should buy an extended warranty Since I don’t work on cars. What repair shop works on Mini in Boise? Does anyone know? Excited to move to Boise in the next couple months. My kids and grandkids live there. My husband was born and raised there. We have previously lived there for 15 years.
