Introducing you to bloob

hi all,

im here to introduce my (sort of) new car, bloob. i bought it last year, and it has AC, so thats a step above my past car!

I am posting because lately ive been having issues with it unfortunately. It all started with the clutch/throw out bearing noises I was hearing. Long story short, I’ve done a bit of work, a lot of the easy stuff; supercharger service, o-rings and seals. I finally put it back together and it sounds like the day it rolled off the production line.

I am still having issues however, and from all the reading I’ve done, it seems like it might be the crank pulley, an evap leak or some kind of fault in the ECU.

It runs great for 5-6 miles. After it gets to temperature, something triggers limp mode at about 5k rpm. I am also noticing sometimes, the passenger side of the engine will vibrate more than other times. Ive also had and cleared a few fault codes, and they haven't come back. Reading through the forum faq i also decided i should check and replace the spark plugs and have done so to a noticeable jump in power, but it still didnt resolve my issue.

I would be a little less worried if i had the behavior that others have described, where the car will come out of limp mode after a restart, but it seems after it has warmed up, it refuses to go back to normal operation (stuck below ~3k rpm) and I have to wait for it to cool before going anywhere with any kind of haste.

There are no fault codes when I read them. I’m just a little lost without any codes to go off of.
