Is this thing on?

Hello all... New here, but you probably figured that out. Got my sweetheart in November- Dark Silver MCS with white top... I'm working on performance mods as we speak, with much help from a few NAM members (you know who you are, wink wink)... My goal is to blow my husband's Evolution off the road so he'll quit laughin at my Mini.

I would recommend Webb Motorsports for parts and info. Randy's site will get you on the right road and he has always been there to answer my questions. I would highly recommend attending a pulley party if one comes your way. Remind your husband to play nice because now your on our team. Welcome to the club!

Welcome to NAM.

I see you are in AZ. Are you coming to Vegas?? Randy Webb (who I strongly recommend also ) will be there I'm sure. He has done my engine mods and our local "Mod Squad" has installed my springs, brakes, and sway bar (all of which came from Randy Webb)

I second the "great choice of color" comment (tee hee) now that you have the pulley, let it breathe and see what happens! I have an Alta cold air intake and a remus exhaust............Yeeeeeeeeee Hawwwwwwwww! Randy's the man! Go see him in action even if you don't have any mods done by him, a real show! "If it isn't Scottish.....IT'S CRRRAP!" He talks to the cars and they talk back! Now go on and teach that hubby of yours a little (MINI) humility! Welcome to NAM, this place ROCKS. The "search" function is very cool.

Tell him its not nice to laugh at a MINI! My hubby has an Evo too, but since his is currently somewhere around 330-350hp ttw I don't think that my Bruno will ever beat his car in most cases. I'm hoping that I will get good enough in auto-x to beat him, which could happen I think!

But we hang with a bunch of Subaru guys and everyone is excited about my MINI that I should get next week. Some of our friends have started a small company that at the moment is focused on making specialty bushings, and they want to increase the models they design for, so they can't wait to tear him apart to look at how the MINI is put together.

misfoota,

Aloha from Hawaii and welcome to NAM.
Good to hear from you.
A 17% pulley already?
Want to scare little children and animals? Install a loud air intake like the alta with Hose or consider the M7 air gain system.
Want to scare big people and your neighbors? Install a serious exhaust like-
Borla Race, UUC, or Magnaflow. (just kidding )

The key to making your MINI fast is to reduce weight and use sticky tires.
You can't compete with the Evo on power.

Really light 15" or 16" rims and good non runflat street tires would do the trick. SSR comps and Goodyear eagle F1 GS-D3 or Bridgestone potenza S-03s might be worth a look at tirerack.com, you can talk to Alex, he knows MINIs. There are also other less expensive but light rims as well.

Later it's possible to add larger 380cc fuel injectors and GIAC ECU software to compliment your 17% pulley. See Helix13.com and give them a call.
