Newbie without a ride...

My wife ordered the Mini last Monday night. Unfortunatly, the wait is supposed to be nine weeks. However, all good things come to those who wait, and considering I have a lot of forum posts to read, and a few stupid questions to search out before I post them, I'm sure the time will fly.....

Your wait will be worth it - 9 weeks is pretty good. You've found the right place to pass the time and gather lots of great info. Congrats!!

I forgot to mention that I'm an MECP certified installer, and even though I'll be keeping the stock head unit in the car, I plan on installing a Sirius Tuner and a hands free car kit. I've found some usefull posts in this forum already, and cannot wait to try my new found knowledge on the new car...

All my other vehicle purchases were walk in with the old, and out with the new, but considering the fact that I'm having a custom built car, I suppose nine weeks isn't too much to wait. But that doesn't mean I can't whine about it.....

I wish we only had to wait 9 weeks. We went in and were placed on the list. It will be a 6-9 month wait for a new one here in Arizona.

Yah, I checked out Niello. Great sales guy but they want their markup. I don't remember the wait but I think it was April/May delivery. I am sticking to MSRP. Do you think they will drop the markup if I ask them to? I am going to check out the Mini options at East Bay Mini and Mini of SF to get a visual of what I am acutally buying later this week. I will buy next week.

Yes, yes it was.....

I can't believe some of you are waiting so long! I had no idea that there was such a thing as a nine month wait. Well, not for a car anyway......

I'm situated on Long Island east of NYC. I guess we're closer to the factory than you are.....

It's finished! It's a Mini Cooper now! Unfortunatly, it's still awaiting transport, but hey, at least it's one step further down the line....

They have a couple lying around, considering they mothballed them this past August. I kind of miss it, leaving JFK every morning...
