No Mini, but like-um a lot

Hi Everyone!
My name is George S. Pearl and I own and operate Atlanta Panorama and ALPS Labs in Atlanta, GA. My cousin Michael Garcia, a Clemson student, has a Mini Cooper that is really souped up, and I am no stranger to racing small cars either.
When In college at USM I started the Hattiesburg Motorsports Association where we did auto-crosses and rallies around southern Mississippi. I actually won a SCCA rally once here in Atlanta driving a Datsun 800 station wagon! Back in Hattiesburg I had a totally restored Austin Healey 3000 Mk1. (It got totalled by a jerk in an Oldsmobile in New Orleans, but was a great old English car). I also had the last GTO that came off the assy. lines back in 1972, and it too got distroyed, by my cousin learning to drive?!?! She backed through a chain link fence and over a big log tearing out the entire bottom of the car!
I will be your Group Panorama Photographer for the coming Dragon 2005. You will be getting one of those long-skinny pictures several feet in length.
I will arrange all of you in a circle around the camera position and then the camera will rotate around to cover the scene. When it is printed everyone will be straightened back out and you will be able to see everyone!
My cousin says he will take me for a ride in his SUPERCHARGED Mini, but in all fairness to those of you wanting a panorama photo, I think I will delay that until AFTER the shoot! My largest group picture to day was of 10,000 ladies for a dinner. I have been in the professional photo business for 30 years, but this will be my first Mini Cooper group! I can't wait to meet you all and see all of your great cars.
Thank you,
George S. Pearl, QPP

Even though I won't be at MINIs on the Dragon (Darnit!), I welcome you to NAM! Stick around, there are some great people here with lots of interesting stories and experiences to share!

Again, welcome!

Welcome to NAM, George! Great provenance of automotive experience there! Your technique for the panoramic shot sounds fascinating! If you can corral all of us, I will be MOST impressed! (Just kidding....well, kinda!)

I'll be motoring cross-country from Los Angeles to attend this, my 3rd Annual MINIs on the Dragon Meet, and it will be my fifth time at the Dragon. You'll love the area and all the MINIacs, I'm sure. We are a fun bunch!

Be sure to visit the Dragon Forum and see the calendar of events. You may want to sign up for the Welcome Dinner and other things, depending on when you arrive.

Look forward to meeting you in May!

Yes, welcome to NAM

Three easy steps:

1. Go for a ride in a MINI.

2. Test drive a MINI.

3. Order a MINI.

Not neccessarily. I skipped step 1 & 2 and went directly to 3.
