New to NAM & Soon-to-be MCS Owner

Hey folks, G8RMNI here. I am a new member and just wanted to introduce myself. I plan on buying a '05 MCS in the upcoming month(s) or so and trying to learn as much as I can about them before picking all the options/accessories.

Welcome, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, except I'm waiting to order an 06 Mini later this year or very early next year.

What options are you looking to add to your MCS? I'm trying to sort through everything and decide what I really want and what I can live without so I can keep the price down. So far I know I want the xenon headlights, sunroof and chrono pack. There are definitely other options I'd like to add, but those 3 things are the essentials for me.

Welcome G8RMNI! You have come to the right place for info...info...info: some factual , some experiencial , some even experimental. Ask all the questions you want and get good at searching. There is a lot of combined experience here. Some good times, too. Remember, MINIs attract an amazing cross section of motorers and motoring interests, so brace yourself for some fun. The MINI community may be somewhat unique in it's broad spectrum of enthusiasts, but we all love our MINIs, often for very different reasons (yes, the car has THAT many strengths ) and we do enjoy (well, I do) the exciting experiences of new owners. After all, you'll know more about the latest/greatest MINI than I ever will once you're out motoring every day!!!

You DO know you have an awesome local enthusiast's group in DC. Seek them out....very helpful. You'll see more MINIs at club meeting than you'll ever likely see even at the dealer!!

Well as far as accessories go, I think my signature below about sums it up.

I know what you mean about keeping the price down...these things can quickly reach $30,000 if you get carried away. As it looks now, with all of the options/accessories I picked, I'm looking at a total of $26, 620. Unfortunately I got laid off two weeks ago, so I'm searching for another job before I sign the financing contract and begin making payments. So, if anyone needs a web content manager/communications manager in the DC area, give me a buzz! You can read my resume, etc at www.ryancmorris.com

My little site isn't completely finished...hopefully I'll be done with that before the end of the long weekend...

welcome bud!

have you considered getting an MC versus the MCS?

i save alot by getting an MC. i was able to get quite a few options on my MC for the price of a base MCS.

for 26-27 grand, you could have a pretty heavily optioned MC. 4-5 grand more in options versus the MCS.

just a thought, good luck!
