I've been lurking on NAM for about a month, and just got word yesterday that my Mini has finally been shipped (on the Undine, due to arrive in the US August 4th), so I decided now would be a good time to register.

I've been driving and racing Dodge Neons for almost ten years now, but was ready for soemthing new and different. On July 4th weekend I sold my 2001 Neon ACR (with the competition package) and delivered it to New York where it will finish out its life as a dedicated track-only race car. On July 5th, I took some of the cash from the sale, went to Midwestern Mini in Dublin, Ohio, test drove a Mini Cooper, and ordered mine on the spot. I had sent my wife there a week or two before to test drive a Mini since we'll both be driving it, and she gave her approval.

Since ordering my Mini I participated in a Kumho Tire and Mini "Ride and Drive" promotion and got to flog a few Minis around the autocross course they had set up. After that I knew I had made the right choice.

I've already got a 2nd set of wheels on the way, and will be picking up some autocross tires for it within a week or two. My wife just said yesterday that she has never seen me so excited about a new car purchase. I guess I have been a bit giddy with anticipation lately.......

Congratulations!

What qualities in the MINI led you to choose it over a new SRT-4? Just curious, as I considered the SRT-4 (great bang for the buck!) but besides the great seats, the interior just killed it for me...

Hi Keith...welcome to NAM! Sounds like you've already had some MINI fun on the track. I'm sure giddy will become something of a lifestyle once your MINI arrives. So tell us...which model/options did you and the wifey select!!

Hi Keith,

Good for you buddy! I am sure you will enjoy your Mini. You chose this car for all of the right reasons.

Now it's the waiting game until it is parked outside your house.

Post up a few pictures once it comes home.

Congrats

Kesh
