Just Ordered

Wife and I ordered :

2006 MCS
RG / RG
Blk Leatherette (We have 2 Mini Schanuzers)
Prem / Sport / Conv. / Cold Packages

Going back to South Bay Mini to:

Change: RG/RG to SB/S
Alloy Pantina to Antracite

Add: HK Stereo
Antracite Headliner

Thanks to the board we went to South Bay, asked for Jennifer and got treated GREAT !!!

Should be picking up first wk in December (according to Jennifer)

Got a couple questions:

#1 is the HK worth the $550
#2 is what are the 1st improvements we need to make

I'd say the Alloy Patina to Anthracite decision is one of the best you'll make! . Alloy Patina looks terrible IMHO. The addition of the Anthracite headliner only improves the look. You're going to love it!

The HK question has been debated, but I'd say if you're looking to maintain the OEM look of your interior, it's definitely worth the $550. The sound quality is incredible! If you don't care about maintaining the OEM look, but find sound important, you should save the money for a more expensive aftermarket deck / speakers. The general rule is, if you're going to change to an aftermarket deck, don't get the HK system as it makes the install much more difficult as you have to rewire everything.

One thing I'd suggest adding is the Chrome lined interior. Goes excellent with the all-black look you currently have. Adds a beautifull classy shine that looks much better than the gray plastic IMHO. Go to the dealership and see if you can find one with the anthracite interior and chrome linning for yourself!

Hi, littleburl! Love the specs....both sets of them, but the revised ones are particularly awesome-sounding! I have owned two new MINIs and the current one has the H/K....LOVE IT! Good value for the money!

Welcome to NAM! Read everything and ask questions! We love to help newbies!

Thanks for the Info

We live in the I.E more specifically Highland. The car will ACTUALLY be for the Misses, which means I wont have to go Xmas shopping. As for the HK the misses did locate an old article on the motoringfile, have yet to read it.

It is going to be a long 4 mnths. Guess I will have 4 mnths to research and decide what upgrades I want to do to her car.
